In North Devon we have been lucky enough to enjoy a decade of fantastic cricket for women and girls. In 2012 girls from all junior clubs in North Devon got together and formed Tarka Girls. After huge efforts and commitment from both players and parents and thanks to the expert coaching of Mark Overton, in 2015 Tarka girls realised their dream and won the Lady Taverner’s National Hardball Final. The girls got to the national finals again in 2016.

In 2016 as many of our players were too old to play junior cricket, we were inspired to start up Tarka Ladies and play in the Devon Ladies League. In four seasons we have been Devon Ladies Champions twice and finished towards the top of the table in the first division every year. Last Year we won the Plate final of the Devon Ladies Supers 8’s Competition. Two Tarka ladies currently play for Wales!

Tarka Ladies Team are trying to encourage younger players. We are hoping to play some fixtures and enter some tournaments this season. The only way this will work is if girls from all clubs get together to form a team/s. All girls 13 years or over are welcome to attend Tarka ladies training on Thursdays at Instow 18.00 – 19.30
