It was an absolute privilege to manage the U11’s in 2024. I must start by thanking all the parents for their support – particularly Bobby Dyer. The team played a lot of outstanding cricket, this season. There are many promising players who I can see being the future of the club.

We won 5 out of our 8 matches in great style, only losing three away matches against Filleigh, Bideford and Braunton. The Braunton match being particularly memorable for the wonderfully crazy run chase by Harriet and Arthur Johnson to bat out our overs.

I often think we learn more from our losses than our wins. We certainly played better and better as a unit as the season went on. I received many positive comments from the opposition about what a great team we had and how well you worked together, particularly in the field.

Three matches really stand out for me this season. Braunton at Westleigh, where we played an outstanding game to win against a very confident and assertive group and I have to mention our game against Newton Tracey at Westeigh where Ronnie took an amazing 4 wickets,  and our Super 8 last match of the season where lack of available players almost made us concede - but I think that was the game where every single individual played to their potential. We finished the season runners-up to a strong Braunton side. Braunton 30 points. NDCC 28 points.
