2018 New Players

Josh Davey

Josh is a contracted player with Somerset CCC and Scotland and has been playing club cricket for Clieveden CC alongside Max Curtis for the last few seasons. Josh is a talented all rounder (a right-hand bat and right-arm medium fast bowler) who has played 29 ODI’s and 14 T20I’s for Scotland. His 6 for 28 against Afghanistan in 2014 was the best ODI bowling display by a non-Test player. Like his Somerset team mates, Jamie and Craig, he will only be available to play for us when not required by Somerset, but we much look forward to seeing him in action at Instow.

Adrian Isherwood

Adrian, known as AJ, is a 23 year old Australian who plays his grade cricket for Western Suburbs CC in Sydney, where he is a good friend of last year’s overseas player, Callum Hotham. Adrian went to school at St Dominic’s College and is currently in the middle of his apprenticeship as a plumber. He is a genuine all rounder – a lefthanded batsman who bowls left arm off spin and is excellent in the field. Adrian came to England in 2015 and played for East Hadden in the Northants League, topping their batting averages with close to 1000 league runs. He looks an exciting prospect.

Ben Ward

Born in Jersey, Ben is a 19 year old who now lives in Cape Town and plays for Milnerton CC in the Western Province Premier Division. He is another all rounder who bowls spin. He has represented Jersey from U15’s to senior level with a top score of 202 not out and best bowling figures of 7 for 33. His father runs a well respected cricket academy in Cape Town where Ben
also helps out. Ben is a licensed bartender and keen on magic – he is a Johnny Bairstow lookalike, but is unlikely to greet you with a headbutt. He should be a great asset on the pitch, in the bar and as a coach for our juniors.

We wish all three an enjoyable, successful and rewarding season with us.
